My Therapeutic Approach

MINDFULNESS AND WELL-BEING

When using Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, interventions such as deep breathing or progressive muscle relaxation can be used to help you become more aware of your feelings in the present moment. By practicing mindfulness, you can learn to observe your thoughts and emotions without judgment, build tolerance for uncomfortable emotions instead of avoiding them, which can be really helpful in managing stress, anxiety, or depression.

SOLUTIONS FOR THE FUTURE

With Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, we'll focus on identifying your strengths and resources to tackle your current challenges. Instead of diving deep into the origins of past problems, we'll work together to envision what you want your life to look like without those obstacles. I'll help you set achievable goals and develop practical strategies to move towards them. It's all about finding solutions and taking small steps forward, rather than getting stuck in the problem.

My Therapeutic Approach

I use a few different therapeutic modalities including:

  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR SESSIONS

During our sessions, I will zoom in to look at your symptoms, then zoom out to look at factors such as culture, family dynamics, friendships, work or school, and other important life areas.

Depending on your needs I will pull from additional therapeutic modalities to help you work on things like anxiety, depression, ADHD, LGBTQ+ issues, and life transitions/stressors such as breakups/divorce, stress management, and personal identity development.

COPING MECHANISMS

With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I'll help you become more aware of your thoughts and how they influence your emotions and actions. Together, we'll challenge negative or irrational beliefs you may have and work on developing practical skills to help you cope with difficult situations and manage stress more effectively.
